The Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) and the banking partner State Bank of India launched the Singara Chennai Card (NCMC — National Common Mobility Card) throughout Phase – 1 Metro Stations.
At present, the Singara Chennai cards can be utilized in Chennai Metro stations and across any remaining Metros in India that acknowledge RRuPay NCMC cards such as MMRDA Mumbai Line 2A & 7, Bangalore Metro, Delhi Metro Airport Line, Kanpur Metro, BEST Buses Mumbai, and Kadamba Transport Buses in Goa.
In the future, consumers will be able to make purchases with a single card in a variety of areas and segments of the nation
It can be obtained through SBI’s exclusive online portal or at metro stations.

The underlying technology has been developed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) on RuPay NCMC cards which are now being adopted nationally with all security features. This card will be issued by SBI at Chennai Metro Stations and has the unique feature of a Stored Value which can be used to store a maximum amount of 2000 rupees that can be used for ticket purchases in Offline mode.
Initially, the issuance of NCMC cards will be at 7 stations namely
- Koyambedu Metro
- Central Metro
- Airport Metro
- High Court Metro
- Alandur Metro
- Thirumangalam Metro
- Guindy Metro
the card can be used in Automatic Gates of all the Chennai Metro Stations.
